Plano, Texas – As part JCPenney’s $1 billion investment to improve the customer experience, the retailer is revamping its loyalty program.
The new JCPenney Rewards and Credit Program is a free loyalty program that offers a simpler, compelling experience that the company says could deliver up to half a billion dollars back into the pockets program members.
Rewards members will receive a $10 CashPass reward just for signing up and another $10 on their birthday. In addition, Rewards can be stacked on top of other coupons and can be used on any purchase.
Other features:
- Customers who join JCPenney’s Rewards program will reach rewards up to two times faster, earning at least one CashPass point per $1 spent and receiving a $10 CashPass Reward when they hit $200.
- Customers who are JCPenney cardholders will save even more, earning CashPass Rewards 50% faster than before when using a JCPenney Credit Card for purchases. Cardholders will earn 1.5 CashPass points per $1 spent, receive a $10 CashPass Reward when they spend $133, and receive an extra 35% off their first purchase with their JCPenney Credit Card.
To promote the launch, NBA superstar and long-time JCPenney brand ambassador Shaquille O’Neal have created special in-store and online events to help Rewards members “score” more points.
On May 4, current and new Rewards members can visit their local JCPenney and compete in an in-store 3-point shoot challenge created by O’Neal. Winners will receive a coupon for $10 to $100 off.
Rewards members who share their 3-point challenge attempt on social media with the hashtag #JCPRewards can earn a chance to meet O’Neal later in the year.
“Enhancing our Rewards Program is an important piece of how we bring value to our customers, but not the only piece,” Katie Mullen, chief customer officer, JCPenney. “We want every trip to JCPenney to be worth it.”
