Dublin, Calif. – A pair of insiders at Ross Stores Inc. have been promoted to lead merchandising for the Ross Dress for Less and dd’s Discounts chains, effective Dec. 1.
Karen Fleming is stepping up to become president and chief merchandising officer of Ross Dress For Less. She currently holds the same titles for dd’s Discounts, a role she moved into this past April.
Karen Sykes will become president and chief merchandising officer for dd’s Discounts, replacing Fleming upon her promotion. Skyes is currently EVP of merchandising at Ross, where she oversees men’s and children’s.
Both will continue to report to Barbara Rentler, the company’s CEO.
The company operates1,795 Ross locations in 43 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam as well as 353 dd’s Discounts stores in 22 states.
“Karen Fleming is a gifted and seasoned executive with over two decades at our company serving in different leadership roles at both Ross Dress for Less and dd’s Discounts,” said Rentler. “Karen Sykes is a skilled merchant with over three decades of experience within our organization.”
