Dormify’s leading unsecured creditors owed more than $4.6 million

New York – Dormify, the DTC etailer specializing in dorm essentials and décor, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week.

The voluntary petition, filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, listed assets of $1 million to $10 million and liabilities of $10 million to $50 million.

The company’s website is still in operation, selling college-oriented bedding, bath, pillows, throws, furniture, headboards, lighting, storage, décor and gifts.

Dormify’s top 20 unsecured creditors include a handful of home furnishings suppliers. Most companies on the list reflect the overhead for running, marketing and fulfilling a consumer-direct e-commerce venture.

The include:

  • FedEx: over $1.2 million
  • Google: over $614,000 for online advertising services
  • Meta Platforms: over $513,000 for social media advertising
  • New Sega Home Textiles North America: over $432,000 in trade debt
  • Jiangsu Royal Home USA: over $424,000 in trade debt
  • Veyer LLC: over $226,000 for logistics services
  • MNTN Digital: over $194,000 for targeted advertising
  • WCN Properties: over $153,000 for warehouse lease
  • Commerce Hub Inc. (DBA Rithum): over $139,000 for e-commerce platform services
  • Cargo Trans: over $118,000 for logistics services
  • Klayivo Inc.: over $103,000 for e-marketing services
  • Snap Inc.: over $94,000 for social media adversiting
  • Mirakl Inc: over $87,000 for software services
  • Claystrong Rentals: over $69,000 for warhouse lease
  • Pellettieri, Rabstein & Altman: over $62,000 for legal services
  • VCH (WKND Digital/Lancer Capital Holdings): over $39,000 for omni-channel marketing strategy services
  • nuLoom Inc.: over $39,000 in trade debt
  • 286 5th Reatly Corp: over $35,000 for office lease
  • Linon Home Deco Products: over $33,000 in trade debt
  • Simply Sisters Greek: over $32,000 in trade debt

 

Last year, Domify partnered with The Container Store to create branded shop-in-shops stocked with its bedding. It had a similar in-store deal with Macy’s in 2015 with a  branded bedding collection, the DTC company’s first foray into bricks & mortar retail.
