Conshohocken, Pa. — Top 50 retailer Ikea U.S. announced a pair of store openings for later this year in Texas.
In the fall, the Swedish retailer will open a small format store in Pharr in the Rio Grande Valley. Later in the year, Ikea will open a two-story, small format store in Dallas’ University Park neighborhood. When both are open, Ikea will have 12 total stores in the Lone Star State.
“At Ikea, we want to create a better everyday life for the many people, and one way we can do that is by bringing Ikea close to where people live, work, socialize and shop,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO & chief sustainability officer, Ikea U.S. “That’s why we’re enhancing our store formats for greater convenience, making delivery more affordable, and ensuring better connectivity with our customers in their daily lives.”
Located in the Pharr Town Center at 500 N. Jackson Road in Pharr, Ikea Rio Grande Valley will bring the Ikea experience closer to the many people in the region. The 44,000-square-foot store will offer some1,600 articles for immediate takeaway. The entire range will be available to order online, with options for free store pickup or home delivery at a minimal fee. Plus, this store will feature the Swedish Bite concept with hot and cold food options for a quick meal on the go or to take home.

Ikea Dallas – University Park, located at The Shops at Park Lane, offers a new way of reaching customers both in-store and digitally, with 3,200 articles available for takeaway including food. Although the entire range will not be available for immediate takeaway, it can be ordered online, with options for free store pick-up or home delivery at a minimal fee.
