Chesapeake, Va. – Dollar Tree Inc., which operates 16,500 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces, is bringing on a new chief supply chain officer.
Effective today, Roxanne Weng joins the organization after more than 30 years of retail operational leadership experience. She succeeds Mike Kindy, who is retiring after two years with the company capping off a career of more than 35 years.
“From overseeing complex distribution networks to modernizing our supply chain strategy, [Kindy’s] contributions have been instrumental in positioning our company for long-term success,” said Mike Creedon, CEO of Dollar Tree Inc.
Incoming supply chief Weng has spent the majority of her career at Walgreens. During her tenure there, she held roles of increasing responsibility in both store operations and supply chain and worked as a pharmacist. Most recently, she worked at Uline, an industry leader in packaging and shipping supplies, where she oversaw the company’s creative operations.
Said Creedon, “With three decades of distinguished leadership across supply chain strategy, logistics optimization, and distribution network management, her proven expertise aligns perfectly with the Dollar Tree growth trajectory.”
Weng said she looks forward to steering “industry-leading initiatives to ensure our supply chain network operates at the highest standards so our stores remain consistently and reliably stocked to delight our customers every day.”
This is the latest transition for Dollar Tree since Creedon was appointed CEO last December. He had spent two years of serving as chief operating officer.
In late March, the company announced it planned to sell its Family Dollar chain to private equity firms Brigade Capital Management and Macellum Capital Management for approximately $1 billion.
